ShoeReach covers ShoeReach. This page describes the information handled when you read shoereach.com and the control you have over it.

Who Else Is Involved

We rely on third parties for infrastructure and measurement: a host, a content-delivery layer, potentially an analytics provider, an email service for the newsletter, and advertising partners where advertising is served. Some are processors acting on our instruction; some, particularly advertising and analytics vendors, act as independent controllers under their own terms.

Data We Gather

The data involved falls into two buckets. Passively collected: log and analytics information — IP address, device and browser — about the connection used to reach shoereach.com, and the path taken through the site. Actively provided: an email address for the mailing list, comment details, or the contents of a message to us.

• A specific note for readers interested in ShoeReach: we ask readers not to send us sensitive personal details, and we delete rather than retain anything of that kind that reaches us unprompted.

Keeping and Protecting Data

Nothing is kept longer than it is needed for. Analytics data ages out on the provider’s schedule, subscriber addresses last until you unsubscribe, comments stay until removed. Access is limited, connections are encrypted in transit, and while no site can promise perfect security, we take reasonable and proportionate measures.

Storage on Your Device

How cookies are used here, and how to turn them off, is set out in the Cookie Policy.

Where advertising is served, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.

What We Do With It

Purposes are limited to running and improving shoereach.com, measuring traffic in aggregate, delivering email that has been opted into, and supporting any advertising displayed on the site.

Age Restrictions

The content and the site are for adults. Children under 13, or under 16 depending on jurisdiction, are not the intended audience, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Discovering that we had would prompt deletion.

The Mailing List

We use confirmed (double) opt-in for the mailing list, so nobody is subscribed by mistake or by someone else. Unsubscribe links and our postal address appear in every email, and we do not sell or rent the list.

Your Options

Depending where you live, you may have the right to see what we hold, correct it, have it deleted, take a copy elsewhere, object to certain processing, or opt out of your data being sold or shared for advertising. That covers readers under the UK and EU GDPR and under US state laws including the CCPA/CPRA. We honour Global Privacy Control signals automatically. See Do Not Sell or Share and our State Privacy Notice.
